Degreasing, stripping, deoxidation and oiling of dam chains

DEPLOYMENT

The initial deployment of the chains makes it possible to identify any blocked links before carrying out the pickling / passivation treatment.

DEGREASING

Degreasing is carried out by immersion in a bath of VPK (alkaline solution) at 40°C. The duration is to be adjusted according to the state of clogging of the chains.

RINSING

With water using a high pressure cleaner at 180 bars.

PICKLING-DEOXIDATION

By immersion in a bath of HYDRODECAP-ACIER (phosphoric acid solution) at room temperature. The duration is to be adjusted according to the oxidation state of the chains.

RINSING

With water using a high pressure cleaner at 180 bars.

PASSIVATION

By immersion in a bath of HYDROPASS-ACIER (alkaline solution) at room temperature, for a minimum of 2 hours.

DRYING

Draining and drying by natural evaporation.

CHECKS AFTER CLEANING (1/2)

Appearance examination: absence of oxidation,
Possible checks (dimensional, wear, etc.): these checks will be carried out by the customer; HYDROCHEM will make the chains available after the pickling / passivation treatment has been completed.
Mechanical examination: mobility control of each link
The mobility test of the links will be carried out after pickling / passivation and before oiling,

CHECKS AFTER CLEANING (2/2)

Control under illumination of surfaces.

OILING

To be carried out immediately after drying to avoid re-oxidation of the chains.
Lubrication by immersion in an oil bath at a temperature ≥ 40°C,
Duration: 2 soaks of 12 hours and 4 hours with intermediate draining of 3 hours.

CHECKS AFTER OILING

Uniform oiling.

FINAL PACKAGING

Once the oiling is finalized, the elements are packaged for return on site or in workshops.
